4-H logo with graphic of person presenting in front of a screenPresentations are an integral skill for youth to learn in the 21st century. With the advent of the digital age, it’s important that our youth learn how to research a topic, weed out the information that isn’t good, arrange information concisely, and present it to a group of people. Whether in-person or online, these skills continue to be incredibly important!

The 4-H Presentation Program allows youth ages 5-18 to learn how to research, write, and present information to the public. Youth will be able to select from a variety of topics and give a 5-8 minute prepared presentation on their chosen selection.

Even though youth are “judged” the judges provide constructive feedback and their focus is to help youth improve their speaking skills. There are also prizes to be won – some of them monetary! Public speaking can be a very intimidating thing that scares many adults. Statistics prove that youth who have public speaking skills have a major advantage when entering college and finding a job.

The presentation has several levels on which youth may compete:

5-7 years – County & District
8-13 years – County, District, & State
14-18 years – County, District, State, & Nationals*
