The MED Instead of Meds series will be offered on Fridays at 10:00-12:00 p.m. starting January 31st and ending March 7th.

As the New Year begins, many of us are setting goals to improve our health and well-being. One effective and enjoyable way to prioritize your health is by adopting the Mediterranean-style eating pattern promoted through the “Med Instead of Meds” program. This science-based initiative highlights how small, sustainable changes in your diet can lead to big improvements in your overall health—making 2024 your healthiest year yet!

The “Med Instead of Meds” approach is built around seven simple steps that focus on incorporating nutrient-rich, flavorful foods into your meals. The plan emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats like olive oil, lean proteins such as fish, and plant-based options like beans and nuts. This way of eating is not only delicious but also linked to a reduced risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.

What makes the Med Way particularly appealing is its flexibility—it’s a lifestyle, not a strict diet. By exploring the variety of recipes, meal planning tools, and tips available on the program’s website, you can create satisfying meals that align with your personal tastes and dietary needs. Plus, the Med Way encourages mindful eating, helping you enjoy every bite while supporting your health goals.

Registration: There is a registration fee of $30. This fee covers information, materials, and tastings. Please plan to attend all 6 sessions. Click here for registration.

Let this New Year be the start of a new chapter in your journey to wellness. Visit Med Instead of Meds to explore recipes, learn practical tips, and discover how easy and enjoyable eating the Med Way can be.
