Over the last 5 weeks, aspiring Junior Master Gardeners Matthew Peluso (15) and Benjamin Peluso (7), and continuing Junior Master Gardener Lily Garner (15) have been working to build their educational experiences in horticulture. Through this program, they learned about soil types, plant identification, diseases, diagnosing common issues, where to go for information about horticultural issues, along with pests, seasonality, and other various topics and issues revolving around gardening. All three students are avid gardeners themselves and have studied hard to learn the information presented by a team of Extension Staff and Master Gardeners. Craven County is excited to announce our first group of Junior Master Gardeners! We hope to have many more in the future! Congratulations!
