4-H Presentations 2026

Youth presenting a 4-H Presentation with the text "Craven County 4-H Presentation Program" and the 4-H Logo

The Craven County 4-H Presentation Program is a cornerstone of 4-H youth development, designed to help young people build confidence, communication skills, and leadership through public speaking. By researching a topic of interest and presenting it to an audience, youth learn how to organize ideas, speak clearly, use visual aids effectively, and respond to questions. These skills are essential for success in school, future careers, and community leadership, making the Presentation Program a valuable learning experience for youth of all ages.

The program is offered through a series of progressive events that allow youth to grow and improve their skills over time. County Activity Day (CAD) is typically the first level, where youth present in a supportive, local setting and receive feedback from judges. Those who present at CAD, are qualified to advance to District Activity Day (DAD), competing with youth from multiple counties and further refining their presentation and delivery skills. The highest level is the State 4-H Presentation Finals (SPF), where outstanding presenters from across North Carolina showcase their work and demonstrate excellence in communication and subject knowledge. Youth can qualify for SPF for by winning silver or gold at DAD. Together, these events provide meaningful opportunities for youth to challenge themselves, celebrate achievements, and develop skills that last a lifetime.

Sign-up opens January 9, 2026 and youth and parents can attend a club meeting or online meeting to discuss presentation topics and ideas.
