Rose Garden at Ag Building Undergoing Landscape Redesign

(Updated: July 30, 2025, 6:59 a.m.)

As some of you may have noticed our Rose Garden portion of the Demonstration Gardens at the Craven County Agriculture Building have been looking stressed and unkept. This is in large part due to the presence of Rose Rosette Disease (RRD). Once this disease is detected the only solution is to completely remove the roses, and that is what is currently happening. I ask that those who visit the Gardens often please be aware of this as the Gardens will look worse before they get better. I have provided a Link here about RRD.

The Rose Garden portion of the grounds will be redesigned with the help of our Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers in Craven County and I would like some input from the community about something you may like to see, here is a Link to make your suggestions. Suggestions will go until the end of December 2025. For the rose lovers don't worry, we will be replanting some roses.
