The EPA established new rules for training pesticide applicators and mandated that all license holders are knowledgeable and competent of the EPA changes. These changes, are known as “Certification & Training Rules”. The new requirement mandates that all license holders that obtained their license prior to 2025 complete a 1-hour training session by the time their license expires. If not, then their license will not be renewed.

This change also mandates a specific training for all non-certified employees that apply a pesticide. As an employer, you are responsible to ensure and document that each worker receives this training annually.

Currently, the easiest way to comply is to watch the video located at the NCDA & CS website,

Structural Pest Control and Pesticides - New Certification & Training - Pesticide Section. This site provides instructional videos (about 1 hour each) and the required forms to submit for credit/approval.
