Craven County youth exhibitors represented their county with pride, demonstrating strong showmanship skills and a deep commitment to caring for their animals. From early weigh-ins to final placements in the show ring, the results reflected long hours of feeding, grooming, and training. Participants were seen confidently leading animals in the ring, supporting one another behind the scenes, and celebrating both personal and team accomplishments. The camaraderie among exhibitors was a recurring theme throughout the event.
This year our exhibitors were Benjamin Peluso, Joseph Peluso, Callie Mize, Vann Mize, Noah Mize, Aspen Clifton, and Yoshiko Clifton. Callie won reserve grand champion market steer! The other participants won ribbons in their respective species groups, some showing multiple species. With help from parents and volunteers this show was an unequivocal success with youth exhibiting steers, hogs, sheep, and goats. We are grateful to Ms. Pandora Strickland for providing such an excellent opportunity for our youth to show sheep and goats.
Craven 4-H continues to provide diverse projects and opportunities that build skills, confidence, and leadership in youth. Whether through STEM, culinary arts, or agricultural experiences like IPPE, our members are growing into knowledgeable and responsible citizens.
