The procedure for nominating and validating junior meat goats, market sheep, and market swine is similar to that in 2022. Exhibitors should log into FairWire. ***Nominations will be made through ShoWorks, REMEMBER YOUR LOG-IN INFORMATION, YOU WILL USE IT AGAIN TO LOG IN TO COMPLETE YOUR OFFICIAL FAIR ENTRY.

July 15thNominations & Upload Photo Close (ShoWorks-online) for Jr Ewes, Market Lambs, Jr Gilts, Market Barrows, Jr Does, and Market Goats

CRAVEN, JONES, PAMLICO DEADLINE: July 14, 2023 @ 5:00 p.m.– Turn in DNA envelopes to an N.C. Cooperative Extension Office;

August 15th – Online entries for all NC State Fair Livestock Shows Open;

September 15th – NC State Fair Livestock Show Entries Close; 

2023 NC State Fair Market Steer Nomination Calendar

(pick one of the following five locations to take your steer IF it will weigh over 1,100 lbs at the State Fair)

April 29th – Steer validation at South Stokes High School 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
May 13th – Steer Nominations Close (ShoWorks – online);
***Any Got to Be NC eligible steer purchased at the NC Hereford Sale May 13, will be eligible for NC State Fair. There will be an opportunity on May 13th, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Shuffler Sale facility Union Grove NC for market steer validation.
***Exhibitors will need to nominate by May 13th, even if exhibitors are just thinking they might get a steer for the 2023 Market Steer show. Tag information will be added after validation.
