Individuals whose Private Pesticide Applicator license expires December 2022 may obtain credit toward recertification through September 2022. A total of four credit hours are required for renewal. Two of these hours need to be in Category V (Pesticide Safety) and two hours need to be in Category X (Specialty Training). Specialty Training (Category X) credits are routinely offered by many groups, agencies, or events. Additionally, the NCDA & CS provides classes online at the web links listed below. These hours need to be scheduled on your own.

Private Applicator Safety Training (Category V) are offered through N.C. Cooperative Extension. Scheduled Category V classes within Craven and Carteret are provided in the chart below. Meetings are planned for face to face and will follow current guidelines regarding wearing mask. Social distancing will be expected by all participants. Seating is limited for this reason. All registration will be through Eventbrite and will end prior the event.

  • February 2nd from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Craven County Agricultural Building. Seating limited to 30. Register HERE.
  • February 15th from 2 – 4 p.m. in the Craven County Agricultural Building. Seating limited to 30. Register HERE  
  • February 22nd from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Carteret County in the Center for Marine Sciences  & Technology Building. Seating limited to 15. Register HERE.
  • February 28th from 2 – 4 p.m. in Carteret County in the Center for Marine Sciences  & Technology Building. Seating limited to 15 . Register HERE. 

Updates, registration links, delays/closing due to inclement weather, or other information will be posted at both Craven and Carteret Extension webpages. 

Soil Fumigation credit for 1.0 hours is available for Individual needing this recertification by request. Email:  mike_carroll@ncsu.edu for information or call your local Extension office.

Craven County:  Craven County Agricultural Center, 300 Industrial Drive, New Bern, NC.

Carteret County:  CMAST Building, 303 College Circle, Morehead City, NC. Meetings will be held in Room 306 on the 3rd Floor.
