Critical Steps to Attend Agricultural NC Extension Zoom Meetings

— Written By

N.C. Cooperative Extension is using Eventbrite as a means to register for educational activities. This enables easy registration, tracking, updates, and integration of reporting. So, not only is this easier, it save time and money. Lacking any restrictions due to Covid, it also makes registration easier for those wishing to attend. However, since face to face meetings are limited or non-existent, depending upon the county, this choice also adds some additional steps.

To register using Eventbrite, simply provide an email and establish a password. Then proceed to register for an event to receive a “ticket” by email. Under normal circumstances, this would be the end of registration. However, since most meetings will be virtual, one must also register with Zoom. A link should be available to register at Zoom within the Eventbrite “ticket.”  Simply proceed as follows:

  • Select “View Event Details.”
  • Choose “Access the Event” or “Join the Event” (will vary depending upon browser).
  • Click on the link provided to register with Zoom.
  • If you already have a Zoom account, you are fully registered. If you do not have a Zoom account, you will be prompted to establish one.

Generally, these are the steps to follow to attend virtual meetings. That said, some meetings will vary due to changing technology. Also, some meetings were established prior to NC State Extension moving toward all event postings on Eventbrite. As such, these are likely to offer a slightly different process through Google Forms or Zoom registration protocol.

Change in process can be frustrating, especially as we deal with other stresses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Realize that N.C. Cooperative Extension offices will continue to offer assistance. Anyone having difficulty registering or attending a virtual meeting is welcome to contact us.
