Using the New Spray Conditions Tool for NC ECONet

— Written By

A new tool is available to evaluate herbicide drift and inversion potential based upon current, local weather station data. The tool is web based or can be used from phones in the field. Not only is this convenient and easy to use, it meets the label requirements to monitor weather conditions for the new auxin herbicide use.

The tool can be used on the web at Spray Conditions Tool for NC ECONet. It has also been added to the NC Soybean App. This app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Both work identically so switching between the two is not  an issue.

To use, simply open and select, “Use My Location”. The app will search  for the nearest weather station and current conditions automatically. For those near Kinston, NC and westward, this is an accurate way to evaluate potential off target movement of herbicide. Regrettably, for those along the coast, Kinston’s weather may differ dramatically. As such, it is suggested to use other data source until weather stations along the coastal production area can be added.
