Collapse ▲One of our amazing partners has experienced serious damage and is in need of aid. Please see the message below in order to help. The Veterans Employment Base Camp and Organic Garden is a wonderful facility that helps unemployed veterans in the community, provides children’s programming, and assists with lots of community programs.
VETERANS EMPLOYMENT BASE CAMP AND ORGANIC GARDEN
We received 4 feet of water for 3 days and we are trying to dig out.
We are canceling the Veterans Stand-down until further notice. As many of you know we were hit by Hurricane Florence, that lingered over Craven County and New Bern. I hope that you only suffered minimal to no damage but as you can see from our photos, it will take a while for us to dig out and get things back on track. We currently have a Go Fund Me account going and if you can spare $5.00 it would be really appreciated to help us get back on our feet.
We would also appreciate any volunteers on Friday/Saturday at the garden, 901 Chapman St. from 10:00-2:00, to lend a hand with the clean-up or if you would like to drop off drinks, snacks and/or ice it would be greatly appreciated. Call: 252-617-2848.
Thank you in advance.
Lovay Wallace-Singleton,
Director, Veterans Employment Base Camp and Organic Garden
