Youth & 4-H

Welcome to Craven County 4-H!

Through 4-H, more than 187,000 young people in North Carolina learn new skills and serve their communities each year. 4-H offers clubs, special interest programs, summer camps, school enrichment and after-school child care. Guided by North Carolina Cooperative Extension educators and adult and teen volunteers, 4-H'ers gain knowledge, skills and experience that help them become responsible citizens and leaders.

Craven County 4-H reaches youth through 4-H Clubs, Special Interest Workshops and Activities, School Enrichment, and 4-H Summer Camp.

4-H Clubs
Craven County has one 4-H Club at this time and several that are starting later this year.
Town & Country 4-H Saddle Club meets in the James City area and is very active.

Special Interest Workshops & Activities

Craven County 4-H offers summer and fall workshops for youth from ages 5 to 19. We offer a variety of workshops so that we are able to reach more youth. We send out a free bi-monthly newsletter that keeps you informed of the upcoming events. We also try to offer workshops during Craven County School's spring and fall breaks.

School Enrichment

Our 4-H Agent can help teachers incorporate 4-H Curriculum into their lesson plans. We have all types of curriculum and activities for classrooms in a large selection of subject matter.

4-H Has A World Of Information To Offer You!

4-H Summer Camp

Each year Craven County along with other counties in our area, go together and carry a large group of kids to summer camp. We have gone to Betsy-Jeff Penn in Reidsville for the past couple of years. At camp the kids will not only enjoy the adventures of hiking, canoeing, high ropes, horse back riding but they will also gain leadership and Team Building Skills . Craven County 4-Hers are tough to beat!

Craven County 4-H traveled to New Hanover County on Friday, June 26th to participate in Southeast District Activity Day. The event was held at Ashley High School just south of Wilmington, NC.
