Craven County Clean Sweep Committee Purpose: *Eliminate littering and promote recycling through education and ordinance enforcement. *Encourage citizens of Craven County to implement sound waste disposal practices through education and special events such as Big Sweep. *Obtain updated litter and solid waste control ordinances and work with Solid Waste and the local law enforcement agencies to seek effective enforcement of all pertinent ordinances and laws.
| 3 Community Clean-Up Dates During the Year - Little Sweep- February 6, 2010 (NO Snakes or Mosquitoes) - Spring-Clean Up - May 1, 2010 - Big Sweep -1st Sat. in October - OCTOBER 2, 2010 Each clean up day begins at 9:00 am at Lawson Creek Park where you will receive gloves and bags along with a location to clean. If you would like to clean a certain area and you want to pick up your supplies earlier in the week arrangements can be made by calling 252-633-1477. |

| Pocket Ashtrays Over the past four years Clean Sweep has given away over 3,000 pocket ashtrays. We give the ashtrays away to encourage folks not to throw their cigarette butts on the ground. If you would like to receive a free pocket ashtray, please call 252-633-1477. |
